Strong interest is caused by the publication of a photograph on the internet, in which the highly classified American unmanned aircraft RQ-180 is allegedly depicted.
According to the relevant reports, the snapshot was taken over the air base of Larissa, where the drone is said to have made an emergency landing due to a technical failure.
Military analysts point out that the available information about this specific high altitude reconnaissance UAV is extremely limited.
However, it is estimated that the RQ-180 can remain in the air for more than 24 consecutive hours, covering distances of up to 22,000 kilometers.

At the same time, there are indications that the drone is equipped with AESA type radar, passive surveillance sensors and a communications relay system to support other aircraft.
Its main mission, according to experts, is prolonged presence over enemy territories, even in areas protected by modern air defense systems.
Particular importance is also attributed to the fact that in late February to early March 2026, two C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft of the United States Air Force moved to the base of Larissa from the Edwards Air Force Base in the United States, where the 417th Test and Evaluation Squadron of the USAF is based.
It is estimated that this specific unit is responsible for the operation of UAVs of type RQ-180.
It is recalled that during the recent operations of the United States against Iran, the Pentagon has lost at least ten unmanned aircraft of type MQ-9 Reaper, a fact which — according to experts — constitutes the largest loss of such systems since the beginning of their use.
